Terms of Service for Voyager-1 Discord Bot
Last updated: January 19, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By adding, accessing, or using the Voyager-1 Discord bot (the "Bot"), you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Bot. If you use the Bot on behalf of a Discord server, organisation, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. Definitions
- "Discord" means Discord Inc. and its affiliated services, APIs and platform.
- "Server" ("Guild") means a Discord server where the Bot is installed.
- "Server Administrators" means the server owner, administrators, and moderators who configure the Bot and decide how it is used in their Server.
- "User Content" means any text, links, images/URLs, or other content submitted, configured, or generated through the Bot at your direction (for example: ticket text/inputs, D&D content, link tree entries, embed content, moderation reasons, or reports).
- "Premium" means optional paid features made available through Discord's entitlements/subscriptions.
3. Service Description
The Bot is a software service that operates within Discord and provides community and utility features that may include:
- Personal voice channel creation and controls
- Server configuration tools
- D&D character/session features (where enabled)
- Notifications about free games from Steam and Epic Games Store
- Moderation and security tools (including warnings and bot-trap abuse prevention)
- Points/leveling functionality based on activity events
- Ticketing workflows
- Customisable embeds
- Personal link tree functionality (where enabled and where the Bot is deployed with that module)
Features may vary by Server configuration, permissions granted to the Bot, deployment environment, and Discord platform capabilities. Discord is a third-party platform governed by its own terms and policies.
4. Eligibility and Server Administration
You must comply with Discord's terms and policies and all applicable laws. If you are under the age required to consent to digital services in your country, you may use the Bot only with permission from your parent/guardian and as permitted by Discord.
Server Administrators are responsible for (i) configuring the Bot, (ii) determining which features are enabled (for example: tickets, points/leveling, bot-trap), (iii) configuring moderators/log channels (where applicable), and (iv) ensuring they have a lawful basis and appropriate notices for any processing of personal data in their Server.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Bot to:
- Violate Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or applicable law
- Submit, store, or distribute unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, or otherwise prohibited content
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, probe, overload, or bypass the Bot's security, rate limits, or access controls
- Use the Bot to collect personal data in a manner inconsistent with applicable data protection law
You are responsible for all actions taken through your Discord account, and for any User Content you submit through the Bot. The Bot does not create Server rules and does not replace human moderation; moderation decisions remain the responsibility of Server Administrators.
6. User Content, Tickets, Third-Party Links, and Link Trees
Some features allow you to publish or share User Content (including links). You represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights to submit such content and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.
Tickets: Ticket content is visible to members who can access the ticket channel in your Server (typically moderators/admins based on the channel permissions configured by Server Administrators). Do not submit sensitive personal information in tickets.
Links & Link Trees: Where the Bot facilitates creation of link trees or other link-sharing features, the Bot may display and store the links and related metadata you provide. Third-party websites linked through the Bot are not controlled by us, and we are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability. If you choose to upload an image for a link tree, the Bot may transmit that image to a third-party image hosting provider to obtain a stable URL.
7. Premium Features and Payments
Some features may require Premium access made available via Discord. If you obtain Premium access, you agree that:
- Payments, billing, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Discord and/or its payment providers under their terms.
- Premium access is available only while your entitlement is active and verified via Discord's entitlements system.
- The Bot may send subscription-related messages (e.g., confirmation) via Discord direct messages, depending on your Discord settings.
- Your statutory consumer rights (including any mandatory rights in the EU/EEA) remain unaffected.
8. Intellectual Property
Except for third-party materials and trademarks (including Discord's), the Bot and its underlying software and documentation are owned by the Bot operator/developers and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Bot within Discord in accordance with these Terms.
9. Availability; Changes; Discontinuation
The Bot may be modified, suspended, or discontinued (in whole or in part) at any time, including for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or platform changes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and functionality may depend on Discord and other third-party services.
10. Diagnostics and Error Logging
To operate and improve the Bot, we may collect and store diagnostic logs when errors occur. These logs may include technical identifiers (such as guild/channel/user IDs), timestamps, the feature or command involved, and general context needed to reproduce and resolve the issue. Where user-provided input is involved, logs may include limited excerpts or metadata necessary for troubleshooting. Access to raw diagnostic logs is restricted to the Bot operator/maintainer and may be used to investigate issues and abuse.
11. Disclaimers
- The Bot is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- Information about free games is obtained from external sources. We do not warrant its accuracy, availability, or timeliness.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where such limitation or exclusion is prohibited by law (including mandatory consumer protection rights within the EU/EEA).
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Bot operator and developers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Bot.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Bot (including in specific Servers) where we reasonably believe there has been a breach of these Terms, misuse or abuse, a security risk, or where required to comply with law or platform requirements. You may stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from a Server.
14. Privacy
Our processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy available at Privacy Policy. Where the Bot stores data for ongoing functionality (for example, Server settings, points, tickets, moderation records, link trees, and error logs), such data may remain stored until deleted (where available) or upon a valid request, subject to applicable legal obligations, security needs, and technical constraints.
15. Governing Law and Disputes (EU)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Member State in which you are habitually resident if you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, to the extent required by mandatory consumer protection rules. Otherwise, applicable law will be determined under relevant conflict-of-law rules.
16. Contact
For support, legal notices, or questions about these Terms, please contact the Bot owner/maintainer through Discord (support server or direct message where available).
17. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Bot after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Where changes are material, we will provide notice through the Bot's support server or other reasonable channels.
